Nestled on a charming, picturesque street in Delaware, this beautiful abode had long held a special place in our clients' hearts long before they became its owners. From the start, they envisioned a home with a deeply moody ambiance—one where you could imagine listening to jazz and enjoying a glass of fine wine. Their vision wasn’t defined by a specific style but rather by the immersive, evocative feeling they wanted to experience every day.

To bring this dream to life, our team embarked on a design journey through the home’s key ancillary spaces, including the ensuite, powder room, mudroom, and laundry room. We prioritized not only enhancing the functionality of each area but also ensuring that they offered an unexpected impact that would resonate with our clients' desired atmosphere.

A key element of the transformation was reorienting the kitchen and adding new access points leading directly to the backyard. This design allows for seamless movement between the outdoors and the heart of the home, making it perfect for a family that loves to gather—often and in large numbers. The kitchen, now the centerpiece of the home, serves as an inviting space where family members can linger for hours, cooking up delicious meals or baking with the grandkids.
Just off the kitchen is a cozy yet elegant dining room, which we carefully furnished and styled with timeless pieces that feel curated for the space. The lighting we sourced brings a touch of the unexpected while remaining classic, enhancing the room's inviting ambiance.

The dining room flows effortlessly into the family room, which now features a beautiful stone-clad gas fireplace—a warm and cozy spot to unwind after a long day.

We also gave special attention to the foyer, ensuring it feels just as welcoming and polished as the rest of the home. A built-in coat closet adds functionality, while a dramatic black repaint of the staircase adds a bold visual statement. New furnishings create the perfect spot for keys and other essentials, making this space both practical and stylish.

However, what truly sets this kitchen apart is its distinctive brick veneer backsplash, a special request from our discerning client. We invested considerable time and effort in collaborating closely with the homeowners to ensure that this unique feature was executed flawlessly.
One of the most memorable design elements of the kitchen is the backsplash enclosed within the glass upper cabinets. This elegant touch was a suggestion from our team, and it has become a truly magnificent aspect of the kitchen, which we took immense pride in recommending and were even more delighted to witness as it took shape. The initial state of the space presented us with a canvas adorned with beige walls, outdated wood trim, a 90s fireplace, and the weight of dark walls that cast a shadow over the entire area. However, armed with creativity and a passion for reinvention, we set out to breathe new life into this space.

One of the focal points of the transformation was the outdated 90s fireplace, which was in dire need of a modern facelift. We meticulously redesigned this centerpiece, bringing it into the 21st century with sleek lines, contemporary materials, and eye-catching finishes. The fireplace became a statement piece that not only added a touch of elegance but also served as a visual anchor.
Comfort and functionality were also at the forefront of our design approach. We introduced plush seating options, cozy textiles, and carefully selected furnishings that not only exuded style but also provided the utmost comfort.
